They verify students' needs for reasonable accommodations, arrange essential auxiliary aids and services such as prior registration, test proctoring, counseling sessions with specialists, note takers/readers as well as sign language interpreter services.

Disability support workers can find employment as student disability services coordinators, student assistants or paraprofessionals and 504/ADA compliance officers. To qualify as such professionals they require at least a bachelor's degree in special education, counseling, social work rehabilitation psychology. Furthermore they may require licensing.
